Admission & Deadlines

Applications for the Traditional BSN program are evaluated by the Office of Admission. Students who declare a nursing major are accepted directly into the Egan School of Nursing in their first year.

Second Degree Students

For students who have earned a bachelor's degree in another field, the school offers an accelerated program leading to a BS in nursing. Upon completion of prerequisite courses, students matriculate and complete degree requirements in approximately 15 months. A total of 60 credits must be earned after the first degree is awarded. Students must complete all prerequisite and non-nursing courses prior to admission. All students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or higher and earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in prerequisite courses.

Traditional Full-time Undergraduate Students

In recognition of first-year applicants who have excelled academically while in high school, Fairfield University offers a limited Magis scholarship program. Please note that freshmen seeking to matriculate in the spring semester are not eligible for Magis scholarships.

All awards are renewable annually as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA.

Early Action

Students who consider Fairfield University to be among their top choices for their undergraduate education and who would like to have their application reviewed early may submit their application under our Early Action program. Applicants for Early Action must submit a completed application by November 1.
